DC UPS for Security and PoE Applications

Many security applications involve the use of Power over Ethernet (PoE).

PoE has two advantages:  

• Cost savings 
• Flexibility of device placement  

Because PoE allows you to run data and power together over the same cable to each device, security equipment can be installed where there are no AC outlets available. This saves money by eliminating the cost and time associated with AC power outlet installations, whilst providing the flexibility to locate PoE security devices exactly where they are needed. 

ADM stocks the Adel System range of DIN rail mountable DC UPS power supplies.  

Unlike other manufacturers, Adel offers 48v models as standard. These can be used to power PoE switches. 

The Adel UPS power supply provides redundancy by automatically providing power from the battery when the AC power drops out. Once the AC power is restored the power supply will resume to supply the load from the AC mains supply and recharge the batteries. 

Networkable DC UPS 

Adel’s larger UPS modules are networkable via a DYP351 Display, and you have complete control and visibility of your system via Adel’s ADEL View System PC based software.  

The software allows you to monitor every important parameter of each UPS device in real time. A simple and intuitive user’s interface allows monitoring of battery parameters, load output, temperature sensor, mains presence and all alarm and diagnostic flags. All features are displayed on a single screen.  

Adel System DPY351 UPS Controller and Display 

The DPY351 is a combined display and controller.  

It enables you to see all the devices that are connected to an ADELBus Network and has an Ethernet input for remote connection.  

Up to 30 Adel UPS power supplies can be connected to each DPY351 controller giving you access to vital information such as:  

• All the parameters of each of the connected devices  
• History data from all connected devices  
• Number of back-up events carried out  
• Data alarms    
• Event log & data Log  

You can also use the DPY351 to configure your Adel UPS power supplies.  

It has an ingress protection rating of IP65, making it suitable for installation in harsh environments and has a bright 3.5” TFT LCD display, with a wide viewing angle.
